Bernard A Gooding Dip Arch, R.I.B.A, M.R.I.C.S, M.a.P.S

In the past Bernard has been responsible for commercial, industrial , office projects, town centre schemes, Supermarkets, Bank complex and computer suites, and was the London link for a football stadium in Doha, in the Middle East

For two years Bernard was a part-time lecturer at the South East Essex College of Arts & Technology, and has always had in the office undergraduates of all levels.

Former chairman of Local Chapter of the Royal Institute of British Architects for several years, and served on the Eastern Regional Council of the R.I.B.A, and was a past Chairman of the Architecture and Surveying Institute - Essex for 3 years.

Founder Member of the Committee for the Basildon Community Housing Association - also known as "Swan Housing" and served on their finance, housing and main committee for a number of years.

Past governor of two local Education Authority Schools, being chairman of their Premises Committee in both instances.

Chairman of Stambridge Parish Council for a number of years and a councillor on the former Rochford Urban District Council.

Currently Bernard is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects in addition to being a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors the Ecclesiastical Architects & Surveyors Association, and the Association For Project Saftey.

Bernard is also a member of the worshipful company of chartered architects, a city livery company and has the freedom of the city of London

Whilst working for the late R. Seifert & Partners Bernard was responsible for such projects as office blocks, multi storey car parks, large commercial complexes and a general variety of commercial work. Bernard was responsible for installing in a bank one of the first computer complexes in the UK.

Bernard also worked for the late Lord Mottistone the Surveyor of the fabric of St Paul's Catherdral at Seeley & Paget, and was involved with listed buildings and a teacher training college, in particular the theatre and music school.

Bernard has also been involved over the years with research and development.

Whilst working for Unilever he was with others, responsible for producing perhaps their first total frozen food shop, and pioneering the first super market, from this employment Bernard gained experience in shop fitting and working in various parts of the British Isles.

Glass fibre optics were used to illuminate the croos on the spire of Loughton Methodist Church in 1986 and it is thought this was the first time fibre optics were used in buildings for an aesthetic purpose.
