 About BGA Architects

BGA Architects is a RIBA Chartered architectural practice based in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex. Established in 2010, formerly Bernard Gooding Associates, the practice brings together more than 40 years of experience across residential, commercial, community, heritage and development projects.

​

We work with private clients, developers, businesses, charities and community organisations, providing architectural services from early feasibility and concept design through planning, technical design, tender and construction.

BGA has considerable experience in assessing the development potential of sites and balancing design opportunity with planning, technical and commercial constraints.

Our involvement can begin with an initial feasibility study and continue through planning, Building Regulations, consultant coordination, tendering and construction.

​

Where appointed throughout the project, this continuity gives clients a single architectural team with detailed knowledge of the scheme from its earliest stages through to completion.

Technology and coordination

​

We continue to invest in digital design and visualisation technology to improve the way projects are designed, coordinated and communicated.

​

Projects are developed using Building Information Modelling (BIM), allowing the design to be explored and coordinated in three dimensions from an early stage. Our in-house visualisation capabilities also enable clients to understand proposed spaces, materials and design decisions before construction begins.

​

These tools support better communication between the client, architectural team, consultants and contractors and help identify potential coordination issues before they reach site.

BGA Architects is a RIBA Chartered Practice and our architects are registered with the Architects Registration Board and technologists with CIAT.

​

The practice also maintains ISO 9001 Quality Management and ISO 14001 Environmental Management certification, reflecting our commitment to consistent professional standards, continual improvement and responsible environmental management.
